YOU. You are important.

I was going through the photos in my phone, and there were some photos of me when I was in Liverpool. This was the first time I had travelled solo, think of me as someone who has never travelled on his own. Being a 28 year old, a doctor by profession and a "grown-up", I was scared of being all alone, after all a new place, going to appear for an exam with a spontaneous plan to travel.
I got my passport at around 4 pm on a Wednesday, and by 12:30 am on Thursday morning I was at the airport. Wow, that was something which I hadn't imagined.
Liverpool, it was a different world altogether. The one thing which I really enjoyed was how windy it would be. That breeze would breathe hope into me, and I loved that feeling of hope and feeling alive.
All of a sudden, I was out of my everyday life at Lahore and in Liverpool.
I stepped out on the night of 17th March, I noticed almost everyone wearing green and it wasn't until I had reached closer to Bold street that I realized that it was St. Patrick's day. It was an interesting outing, the food choice wasn't the best but it was good enough. It was something walking through the crowds of people who were all enjoying themselves, it felt like at that particular point no one had any worry in their life.
I went back to Liverpool, about two months later, for a couple of hours. I found myself at the Albert Dock. There were tourists all around me, but they were with someone. I felt like I was the only one alone, that was until I saw someone with a selfie stick, clicking photos and just enjoying. I told myself, hey you're here in a different world, be a tourist, enjoy your day and it does not matter that you're alone, what matters is that you have this time for yourself and you need to enjoy it.
After a couple of weeks, I had the chance to go to Wandsworth Park. I walked along the Thames river, sat down on the ground and made a journal entry, took some selfies, wandered here and there and made my way to the Putney bridge. There was this world all around me, a huge happening and I was just out there, just enjoying myself.
All the places I went to, weren't big tourist spots but they taught me one important thing, "enjoy the time that you have for yourself"
YOU are the most important thing in your life, if you're not there then essentially things won't simply exist for you. So don't rely on anyone else to be happy. Let them join in if they want to, but don't stop enjoying your life just because you feel you're alone.
