There, and now again.

The first time I heard the emirates music being played there were a lot of emotions in play. There was stress, anxiety, fear and excitement. It was all blended together, into a smoothie perhaps. If you were to take a sip then there'd be the sweetness of that excitement but then the very next moment, your tastebuds would feel the citrusy burst of stress, anxiety and fear. Sweetness would overpower, but then maybe citrusy flavors would take over.
Earlier this morning, I heard the same music and I recalled my last journey, how it went and now I'm back again at the same airport but at a different stage of life.
Things took their time, but it all came out together, and I agree for almost everyone of us the wait is never the exciting part. At times the wait is brutal, and it was. But deep down inside I was hopeful that if things have come so far then may be this is not the end. Though it would take some real effort to keep the hope out there on the surface and not buried deep inside.
The grey area of not knowing where things are going is depressing. I recently understood that it only becomes this depressing when we keep focusing on just one detail and not look at the full picture. Maybe that rainbow, or that sunset is not the only thing we should keep looking for. There are other things in life that we can enjoy, there are other moments, other things that we can cherish and make fond memories of but if we just keep focusing on one thing, then we end up not enjoying what life is willing to offer us.
There is a time for everything, and it will happen. May be it could turn out to be even better than you could've expected or hoped it to be, may be you end up changing your direction altogether. What I learnt recently was that stop focusing in on just one detail when you can have the full picture to look to. There are things that can bring much more joy, so enjoy what the day has to offer rather than what you want the day to offer. It is good to pursue what you want to do in life, but don't neglect what is going around you. Time does not wait for anyone, this hour will pass away irrespective of how you choose to spend it, and soon it will all be long gone.
