Happiness is contagious

I was flying back to the UK after a brief trip to Pakistan. You always feel sad when you're leaving home, there's a lot of mixed emotions that hit you and they come right, left, centre and then the pattern keeps on changing so it gets really difficult to predict sometimes.

In the seats next to me, there was an elderly Pakistani couple who could not communicate in English, they could manage a few words here and there, and the lady sitting with them was an British lady. All of them would be over 70 years of age, she could understand as much Urdu as they could understand English. They started communicating in whatever way they could manage, they were laughing and smiling. Looking at this all from a distance, I told myself that happiness is contagious. You don't need to speak or understand a language if you want to share happiness with anyone, all you need is to have a kind heart and soul inside of you. Some people believe that happiness is not to be shared, and that sharing it would reduce it significantly or that people would cast an evil eye over it, well you can be the nicest person and there will be people who will be jealous of you. You just cannot control people, you will still be deceived even if you are honest. The key to contentment is taking life as a journey of growth, somedays you meet good people, somedays you meet okay people, somedays you meet bad people and somedays you're just too busy to meet anyone. Things pass, people go, people change and nothing remains the same. The leather you sat on today, it will be slightly different tomorrow. You might ask how? you might ask why? Well the leather that you sat on will have some wear and tear when you get up from it, compare it on a microscopic level and you will find some degree of changes. Today you're sad, tomorrow you'll be better and then things won't sting you this much.

Live a little, laugh a little and share that little bit of happiness that you have and you'll see it grow. Keep sharing the good things and eventually everything will be better.
