Hope, a treasure.

Have you ever woken up and felt that nothing is going right, that everything will come down crashing soon and you are helpless; to make the matters worse you don't even find the energy to step aside and save yourself from the destruction. Minutes later, nothing happens but yet your feeling of impending doom never washes away and you are as tensed as ever.

It might be a beautiful day outside, but you don't appreciate that. You sit inside your room, denying yourself the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful day, why? That is a good question, you might feel there is nothing to enjoy, or you might feel you don't belong out there. You could even feel that you don't deserve it at all. The room is dimly lit, depression finely spread throughout the air that you breathe and you find yourself sinking deeper and deeper down inside. You re-think about everything that you have done, about everything that you ever touched and you feel disappointed at what you've created. You are behind so many, everyone is racing ahead and you look around, you feel as if you're losing the race. Soon you feel as if you'll be the last one running while everyone crosses the finishing line.

In all of this, there is something missing and yet you can't figure it out. It is the bright ray of sunlight that could spread light through that dimly lit room of yours, it is the gust of wind that would diffuse the poison of depression away. The laughter and smiles of everyone outside makes you feel as if you don't deserve to even step outside for a minute or two. You think of looking through the glass door, to open up the windows but you're scared of what it could bring. You feel happy sinking yourself deep down into depression, because this is something you know, something that you are familiar with.
Somehow, a ray of sunlight finds it way through a hole in the dust filled curtains of your room, the tiny speck of light makes you feel the warmth. You walk towards it and take your hand out of your worn out jacket, you feel the it caress your skin and you feel alive, you battle a thousand thoughts deep inside and take the steps towards the window. Your hands shaking as you pull the curtains aside, you wonder if this is worth it? A deep breath and you pull the curtains aside, the bright light makes it to your room and you see the vibrant colors. The speck of sunlight, that's hope and that's what you're missing out on when you shut yourself down.
