The calm.

Its a few minutes past three in the morning, eyes wide open, thoughts racing through and an aching body; but there is a sense of tranquility at this hour. There is silence, nothing but the beautiful silence, as he wishes to finally call it a day; he just stops. How can you not enjoy this beautiful silence? A few hours later you will be craving badly for some moments of peace, a few minutes away from the obsessions of this materialistic world.

Walk in to his life a few hours later, awoken by a series of alarms, his tired earthly body awakens from the slumber, as he leaves the bed, he wonders if today will be any different. As he collects the little energy he has, it is an uphill task. Soon he finds himself in a bizarre maze of fragile emotions. Eyes glancing through the reports of blood work and more, looking for abnormalities and of making connections, Connecting the dots.

He observes the families as they are informed about the condition of their loved ones. Some getting better, some worsening. There is one thing you should know, the static state is an impending call of deterioration. At some point, he will begin to feel helpless as the grim reality will eventually cast its shadow over the lives of frail ones. As the sun sets down, the darkness of the night starts to spread its charm, city lights glowing in the distance, cars going down the road with their headlights illuminating the roads, under the cover of the streetlights. But there is no peace in the atmosphere, filled with noise, anxiety and the cries, the highlight is the beautiful view he can see from the glass panels. He looks at his wristwatch, quarter past eight; this will all begin again tomorrow. Walking through the doors through which we entered, he walks back to the bed that he left in the morning, to everything that he left behind in his room.

As time slowly passes away, come again three in the morning, the sense of tranquility returns to him; to be enjoyed for a few minutes and soon he will be unable to keep himself awake.
