Books, the fall, not judging and being a human.

Reading books is liberating, everyone has a specific thinking pattern, some elements are given the focus while others are blurred, and as the patterns vary, the overall picture is very unique.
Every day you see many new faces, in the hospital that you work, you get to see new patients, new attendants and with each person, there's a story. I started reading The fall by Albert Camus, it took me a good few pages to get a hang of what was going on but once I was able to cling onto it there was a great deal of things to learn from in every page.
He writes "People hasten to judge in order not to be judged themselves..... Each of us insists on being innocent at all cost, even if he has to accuse the whole human race and heaven itself."
These are very simple to read, but not so simple when you apply them. For example, it is easier to talk about not judging people, but just hold on for a minute; how many times did you judge people today. How about a person who could not speak proper English, the guy who did not know how to type a message, the class fellow who was aloof and did not have friends, someone who had a run down car and who parked right next to your shiny brand new SUV, someone who had no idea about Siri and Alexa. There are a lot of examples, the more you think about it, the more you realize that you have been judging people simultaneously while giving a lecture about not judging. The kid who was crying on top of his lungs when you were just trying to weigh him, the mother who was frantically questioning you about her daughter's illness, yeah you were judging them. And you know what, it's easier said than done.
But they can judge you too you know, why is he using his mobile phone (even though you're using it as a stopwatch cause your G-shock doesn't make it easy to use one at hand), why didn't the doctor explain me the disease in simple terms and why did they use scientific language which I don't understand. There's a lot of things and as I said, since our thinking patterns vary, so do the points which raise up in our minds, we are not tuned to think alike, and we can't read minds either. Ah at some points I do wish for the ability of Professor Xavier, but then again, we could go crazy if we get a chance to do that.
The first step in not judging is pretty simple, step down from the "high intellect seat" and stand at an equal level, I know it can be tough at times. Oh I'm a doctor, I'm a professor, I'm a lawyer, I'm a highly acclaimed writer, you are what you are but that doesn't matter in a conversation or a meeting cause this is not a one way mode of communication, you are a part of it not the whole of it!
Similarly, life doesn't revolve around you, you and YOU alone!!!!
If it does for you, you're an As$hOlE and that's it.
If you stop judging, you will be open to take criticism, which most of us can't phantom, cause who, me? I'm so perfect, yeah good luck with that. You may be perfect in your dreams but this is life, and no one is perfect, we all have flaws, and that's both a good thing and at the same time a bad one.
If you're someone who's continuously improving yourself or have started to improve your habits, then it's a great thing, but if you're an arrogant freak then it's a bad thing, not for you perhaps, but for people around you this is quite toxic.
Don't be an As$hOlE, be a human being instead.
