Motorway, not just surviving and wish for a cup of hot chocolate.

I was driving down the motorway today, it was a different city that I had to go to so I was a bit excited and a bit nervous, it's always stressful driving in a new place and the biggest concern is always finding a parking spot.
Life made easier by googlemaps. I found a parking space as well so it was a pretty good day.
One of the challenging things that you can experience is learning how to adapt to new place, it becomes difficult sometimes and there will be so many times where you feel that you don't need to do anything more than what you've already done so far. You can be right and you can be wrong, there is no universal right answer. The right answer only depends on what makes the most sense to you, you can just survive or you can take this chance and just jump into what life is offering you.
I couldn't have imagined being here in the place where I am, it is strange as how time gets you to different places, places that you might've not even thought about. The good thing is, there is always something new to learn. The bad thing is, if you've got an ego you will find the criticism difficult to deal with. Not every criticism can result in something beneficial, but most of it can culminate in something good, something better than before.
The most tempting thing is "just to survive", it requires the minimal effort and you comfort yourself into thinking and accepting this mindset that this is all good enough. We all go into this mode so many times, just do what you've been doing and get through the day. But what's the fun in that. There's no chance of improving or no thrill of trying something different with the aim of getting better. It is always about being one step better than where you were yesterday.
Here's to not just surviving and trying to be better, bit by bit. There's no rush, just keep on trying and someday you'll look back and realize how far you've come.
I wish I had a cup of hot chocolate to sip on and maybe read some of the books that I had brought along with me, not academic books, of course!
